Letters from Parents of the Class of 2025

Updated: Jun 12

As graduation approaches, it's a moment filled with celebration and reflection for both the Class of 2025 graduates and their parents. This significant milestone marks not only the end of high school but also the start of a new chapter filled with adventures and opportunities. For parents, this moment is bittersweet—overflowing with pride, nostalgic memories, and excitement for the future. They have witnessed their children grow and overcome challenges, and now they're about to step into adulthood.

A Journey of Growth and Achievement

For most parents, this journey began long before their child wore a cap and gown. Each school year brought its own set of milestones—from the joy of watching them learn to read, to the thrill of seeing them score that first run on the baseball field. Late-night study sessions and early morning practices became part of the rhythm of family life. And now, as graduation day approaches, it’s only natural to look back on all the moments that led here—the laughter, the growth, the hard work. The pride parents feel watching their kids step into adulthood is deep, and absolutely earned.

As a photographer, getting to document this chapter has been such an honor. Every senior brings their own personality, style, and story, and capturing that right before they take their next big step is incredibly meaningful. In this blog, I’m sharing something especially close to the heart: personal letters from parents to their graduating seniors, paired with portraits that reflect who they are right now. These are the moments that matter—and it’s my joy to help freeze them in time.

To Damian

To Our Son, Damian,

We closed our eyes for just a moment, and suddenly a young man stood where a little boy used to be. While we may no longer carry you in our arms, we will always carry you in our hearts.

You’ve given us countless reasons to be proud of the person you’ve become. Your hard work and determination throughout your academic journey have truly paid off, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you. Always remember—success isn’t defined by grades alone, but by the positive impact you make on the world and the people around you.

Here’s to a future full of happiness, purpose, and adventure. Congratulations on this incredible achievement. Thank you for being an amazing son.

We love you now and forever.

To Jaydin

Jaydin,

You truly are an amazing athlete and star. I’m so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. On to your next chapter—to play even bigger and better games! I love you, kid!

There’s no limit to stopping you—sky, stars, and beyond!!

Love, Mom ❤️

To Brennan

Brennan,

As the baby of the family, you have changed our lives forever. A little spoiled at times—okay, a lot spoiled at times 😁—you never fail to put a big smile on our faces. Your laughter is contagious, and you constantly amaze us with your clever, kind, and loving ways. Intelligent and independent, yet still appreciating advice from others, you make friends easily with people of all ages, including the elderly. This is a true gift.

Your talent and love for baseball have given us many precious memories that we will cherish forever. Baseball was your world, and we just lived on it. With time, new dreams will be realized, and we will be right by your side, supporting you. Although stubborn, outspoken, and quite the handful at times, we would never try to change who you are—because you are, and always will be, our Double B, “BB.”

Thank you for your love and for teaching us a few things along the way. Stay focused, strong, confident, and balanced—growing spiritually—and you will succeed. We look forward to seeing you enrich your life at Concordia University Irvine.

Love, Mom and Dad

To Wil

Wil,

Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone! I'm so proud of you and all the hard work, perseverance, and dedication you've shown over the years. This moment is a testament to your strength and commitment.

As you look back, cherish the memories you’ve made and the friendships that have shaped you. These years have built a strong foundation for whatever comes next.

As you step into the future, embrace the new challenges and opportunities that await you. Don’t be afraid to take risks, chase your dreams, and explore your passions. Always stay true to who you are and let God guide you.

Wishing you all the happiness, success, and fulfillment life has to offer. Your journey is just beginning, and I can't wait to see where it takes you.

With love and pride,

Mom

To Hondo

Hondo,

Wow—how did time fly? Watching you grow up has been the greatest gift of my life. You are the most amazing thing I have ever done. Through every accomplishment, every failure, every success I’ve experienced, you’ve been along for the ride. I couldn’t have asked for a better son—or a better brother for your sisters. You are truly a great young man, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you and all the great things you’ll do for this world.

Remember to never lose who you are. Being helpful and kind can change someone’s day—or even their life. Stay humble, always chase your goals, never settle, keep learning, and never give up. You have the heart of a lion and the strength of a thousand men—and none of that compares to the love that you give. Always say please and thank you, yes ma’am, yes sir, and say your prayers. Know that you were born for greatness—whatever that looks like for you. I love you always, no matter how far you go—even clear across the country.

I can’t wait to watch you play college lacrosse. Never forget: I will always be your biggest fan.

Love,

Mama
